Assignment 1
This group assignment (50% total weightage) has two main parts, each with a different focus.

Assignment 1a: Low Energy Building Analysis (30%) requires me and my group (3 people) to choose an existing Low Energy or Net Zero building (local or international, approved by our tutor). We’ll analyze the energy-efficient strategies used in the building and their impact on the global built environment, focusing on how these strategies reduce energy demand. We'll create an inventory of these strategies across different areas, such as the façade, lighting system, HVAC, waste management, and renewable energy. From this list, we'll choose one area to develop in-depth, using a mix of graphs, text, images, infographics, and sketches, supported by Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) feedback. We’ll present this in an 8-10 minute infographic video and submit it to MyTiMes. A 5% midterm test will follow.

Assignment 1b: Energy Efficient Green Building Site Visit (10%) requires us to visit energy-efficient green buildings in Malaysia and create a "Youtuber/TikToker/Influencer" style vlog (8-10 minutes). We’ll structure, script, and plan the content, with each group member taking turns as director, videographer, and narrator, ensuring everyone appears in the video. This vlog will also be submitted to MyTiMes. Additionally, there's a peer review component worth 5%.

Assignment 2
This individual assignment requires me to conduct an energy audit of my home, focusing on energy consumption and proposing strategies for energy savings in areas like passive cooling, lighting, waste management, and façade design. I’ll analyze my home’s façade, climate, energy load profiles, and usage patterns, and suggest innovative energy-saving solutions. Tasks include using recent electricity and water bills, creating an inventory of appliances, comparing energy usage on weekdays and weekends, and observing occupant behaviors. The final report, presented as a 10-12 page visual e-report, will be submitted via Canva or a similar app to myTiMes.
